Thai govt congratulates Prince William and Kate

BANGKOK - Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has sent a congratulatory message on behalf of the Thai government and Thai people upon the royal wedding between Prince William of Wales and Catherine Elizabeth 'Kate' Middleton, an official said on Friday.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Thani Thongphakdi said on Friday in a press briefing that the congratulatory message of the prime minister signified the close relationship between Thailand and the United Kingdom.

In the message, the prime minister stated that the Thai government and Thai citizens would join the British people in congratulating and celebrating the auspicious occasion of the United Kingdom as well as wishing both Prince William and Kate Middleton never-ending happiness.

The royal wedding is scheduled to take place at the Westminster Abbey in London on Friday. About 1,900 special guests will participate in the ceremony.
