Premier Wen back to Beijing after Japan tour

BEIJING - Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao returned to Beijing Sunday evening, following a trilateral summit of China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK) in Tokyo and a visit to Japan's earthquake-hit areas.

In a joint declaration issued after the summit on Sunday, the three Asian nations said they will deepen future-oriented, comprehensive cooperation, also as part of the efforts to help Japan recover from the earthquake disaster.

They agreed to cooperate in disaster preparedness and ensure nuclear power safety, while Japan promised to share with China, the ROK and the rest of the world lessons learned from the disaster-triggered crisis at a nuclear plant in Fukushima.

Wen also held bilateral meetings respectively with Japanese Primer Minister Naoto Kan and ROK President Lee Myung-bak.

On Saturday, Wen visited Japan's Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures, stricken by the March 11 earthquake, to show China's support to the post-quake reconstruction in Japan.
