The development of nuclear power is well accepted by the people in Pakistan, said Mir Changez Khan Jamali, Pakistan's Minister of Science and Technology on Monday.

"We don't have any problem or any pressure from the people in Pakistan," the minister said when talking about the public's reaction to building nuclear power plants in the country. People want energy from any source in Pakistan as the country has a problem with providing enough energy, said the minister.

According to Mir Changez Khan Jamali, Pakistan will also take safety measures and learn from the experiences of Japan in the process of nuclear energy development, as anti-nuclear moods have intensified in some countries and many people consider nuclear power unsafe and unreliable after Japan’s nuclear crisis.

The minister also said that China and Pakistan are cooperating on many projects in the fields of science and technology and a new protocol containing education, agriculture and science and technology will be signed in the near future.
