WELLINGTON - A Chinese student has died in a road crash after losing control of her car near Palmerston North, in New Zealand's North Island, the New Zealand Police said Tuesday.
The 26-year-old known as Jingjing Zhang was living in Palmerston North and studying at the Massey University.
Zhang was driving a Mitsubishi Mirage at around 8 pm on Saturday, when she appeared to have lost control on a right hand bend and collided with a wooden fence post, said a statement from the police.
She was the only occupant in the vehicle and died from her injuries at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved.
Police were still making enquiries to notify her next of kin, said the statement.
