URUMQI - Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday renewed his pledge to fight terrorism and extremism while vowing closer cooperation with China in counter-terrorism efforts.
Zardari made the pledge during a speech delivered at the first China-Eurasia Expo, which is currently being held in northwest China's city of Urumqi.
The president applauded China's efforts to fight religious extremism, adding that Pakistan understands the need to root out threats to stability, as his country has made "many sacrifices" in the global fight against terrorism.
