Retaliatory attacks targeting foreign military installations and government facilities by bin Laden sympathizers have been on the rise in the region.
South Korean currently has some 340 troops stationed in the conflict-ridden country to help protect a team of civilian reconstruction workers, and has beefed up security around the base for aid workers amid growing terrorist threats.
