WASHINGTON- An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted southeastern Iran at 08:38 GMT on Thursday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.

There were no immediate reports of casualties and damage.

The epicenter, with a depth of 17.30 km, was initially determined to be at 28.1893 degrees north latitude and 58.9707 degrees east longitude.
