LOS ANGELES - US Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona, who was shot in the head on Saturday morning at a public event, has undergone a surgery and is expected to recover, Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup said.
Walkup told a press conference that he is optimistic that Giffords will recover.
