SYDNEY -- Over 400 Global chief executive officers (CEOs), entrepreneurs, up-and-comers and thought leaders are arriving in Sydney for the 2010 Forbes Global CEO Conference which begins on Tuesday.
It is the second time that the city hosts the high-level talkfest in five years.
The host, billionaire media tycoon Steve Forbes, said Australia was a fitting location to focus on how the world's economy can recover from the global financial crisis.
"From an outsider's perspective, the finances of Australia have been excellent compared to the rest of the world," he told journalists on Monday.
"Australia weathered this financial storm better than just about every other country in the world."
"And when you bring that brainpower together, good things happen, "he said.
The previous Forbes CEO conference in Sydney, in 2005, attracted large protests that saw multiple arrests and ugly clashes between police and activists.
