12 killed in hospital attack in Lahore of Pakistan

LAHORE, Pakistan: At least 12 people were reportedly killed in an on-going terrorist attack at the Jinnah Hospital in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore, which started at around 12 o'clock (local time) on Monday night.

The 12 people killed included 4 policemen. At least three to four unknown gunmen were involved in the terrorist attack. The gunmen attacked the emergency ward of the Jinnah Hospital where several injured people of the Friday attacks in Lahore as well the terrorists arrested under injured condition of the Friday massacre were admitted.

Local media reports said that the hospital attackers held patients, attendants and hospital staff hostage while firing back at the police who arrived at the spot shortly after the attack was launched.

Latest reports from Xinhua sources in Lahore said the attackers have run away after a brief crossfire with the police.
