BEIJING - Japan decided to provide an emergency grant aid with the maximum amount of 100 million yen to northwest China's Qinghai Province for medical relief work after Wednesday's earthquake, said a press release from Japan's embassy to China here Friday night.
The 7.1-magnitude quake, which struck the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yushu in southern Qinghai Province early on Wednesday, has left 617 dead, 9,110 injured and 313 missing.
The earthquake has also toppled 15,000 residential buildings and forced 100,000 residents to be relocated, according to the rescue headquarters.
