Some 1,165 people were inoculated with the vaccines on Thursday alone, which was initiated by the Bureau in November last year.

Macao is a place with high population density, and the outbreak of pandemic will lead to very serious consequences, as a result of which, the government of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) will adopt strict and sufficient measures to prevent the outbreak of A/H1N1 flu, of which the inoculation of vaccines is the most effective, the Bureau said.

The SAR government has previously ordered a total of 700,000 doses of A/H1N1 vaccines, and local medical staff, children, old people and patients with chronic disease were among the group who were firstly inoculated with these vaccines.

According to the statistics from the Health Bureau, there was no new A/H1N1 flu cases reported in local hospitals by Thursday.
