G8 pledged $20 billion in farm aid to help poor nations feed themselves, surpassing expectations on the summit that has yielded little progress on climate change.
The summit of the Group of Eight (G8) industrial nations concluded Friday, making positive but not sparkling progress on such issues as climate change, world trade, food security and South-North cooperation.
The upcoming G8 summit is expected to focus on the state of the world economy, financial regulation, climate change and trade and development.
