It wasn't immediately clear if the thieves managed to steal any money, but witnesses reported seeing people loading something in the helicopter during the heist early Wednesday.

Police spokeswoman Towe Hagg says the helicopter was seen landing on the rooftop of security firm G4S's cash depot in the early hours of Wednesday in southwestern Stockholm. Hagg says at least two men were seen smashing their way through the depot. No one has been arrested, and no one was injured.

Police have found a helicopter abandoned in northern Stockholm.
