College closed after 7 diagnosed with A(H1N1)

Updated: 2009-09-02 21:05 CHENGDU: Classes were suspended at a civil aviation college Wednesday after seven students were confirmed as having contracted A(H1N1) influenza in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
Eleven students suspected of having A(H1N1) were tested and seven cases were confirmed. The first patient developed symptoms on August 28 and another six fell ill between Sunday and Wednesday. They were aged between 16 and 20, the bureau said. The Sichuan Provincial Health Department has sent experts to the college to provide emergency treatment. Classes have been suspended and all group activities banned. The conditions of the seven patients were not available. All students who have had close contact with the patients have been put under medical observation. |
