A(H1N1) flu cases reaches 259 in Bangladesh

Updated: 2009-09-02 15:37 DHAKA: Twelve new cases of A(H1N1) flu have been detected in Bangladesh on Wednesday, bringing the total number of the flu in the country to 259. Head of the country's Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) under the Health Ministry Mahmudur Rahman told Xinhua on Wednesday, "Most of the previously infected flu patients have already recovered from illness." All of the 12 newly infected flu patients are now receiving treatment, he said, adding that none of them are in serious condition.
A 35-year old female flu positive patient died on Sunday night in a private hospital in Dhaka which was first fatality the country has had since recording its first A(H1N1) case on June 18. |
