PYONGYANG: The United States and the Republic of Korea (ROK) committed over 170 cases of aerial spying over the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in August, the official media reported Monday citing a military source.

Some 90 of the cases were committed by the United States, which used RC-135, U-2 and E-3 reconnaissance aircraft over waters on the northeast of ROK, while the ROK was responsible for at least 80 cases, the Korean Central News Agency said.

The agency reports US and ROK spying flights monthly. More than 180 cases of aerial spying were reported last month.
