Updated: 2009-08-21 01:20 SEOUL: The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) said Thursday the inter-Korean economic negotiation office in Kaesong will be reopened, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap.
Earlier on Thursday, Yonhap reported that DPRK informed South Korean that it will lift cross-border traffic restrictions imposed since December in protest of Seoul's hardline border restriction, starting on Friday. In the so-called "December 1 Measure," DPRK restricted the number of times South Korean workers could travel to a joint industrial park in its border town of Kaesong. However, officials in said it would take a week until the restrictions are lifted due to "technical reasons", said Yonhap. |
