Pakistan provincial minister killed by armed robbers

ISLAMABAD: Balochistan provincial excise minister Sardar Rustum Jamali was killed when armed robbers opened fire on his vehicle in southern Pakistani city of Karachi Thursday, local TV channel reported.

Jamali was visiting a friend when armed robbers tried to snatch his car, according to the police. He was injured when he was hit by bullets and was rushed to the nearby hospital where he died of wounds, the private TV channel ARY News reported.

Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani condemned the killing of the provincial excise minister and ordered the immediate investigation.
