Chinese merchants released in Russia
Russian police abruptly shut down Cherkizovsky Market in June to crackdown on smuggling. 190 Chinese merchants and a large quantity of their goods were seized. [CCTV.com] 

Russian authorities have released all 190 Chinese merchants. They were reminded to go through the procedures of applying for residence and working permits.

Russian authorities said the detained merchants were overstaying their visas. They were given a fine and released. The government has set up an emergency headquarters and a 24 hour hotline to ensure merchandise is transferred out of the market.
