Blast kills 30 people in SE Iran

The crowd had gathered at the mosque in the southeastern Iranian city of Zahedan to commemorate the death anniversary of the daughter of the prophet of Islam, Press TV reported. The official IRNA news agency quoted Ali Mohammad Azad, the governor general of Sistan-Baluchistan province with Zahedan as the capital, as saying that 15 people were killed and 80 others were wounded. He said "a terrorist" was involved in the explosion, which happened at 7:45 p.m. (1515 GMT) Thursday. Police were investigating the blast and no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the bombing, according to Press TV. |
