TEHRAN, Iran – Iran's state-owned newspaper says four people including a 30-year-old woman convicted of murder have been hanged.

The report in Thursday's edition of the daily newspaper IRAN only identified the four by their first names. It says the hangings took place Wednesday.

The report says the woman was convicted of killing her husband with a hammer. The other three were also convicted of murder in separate cases. No other details were available.

Murder, rape, armed robbery, kidnapping and drug trafficking are all punishable with the death penalty under Iran's Islamic penal law. Iran has executed more than 90 people this year according to media reports.

The country does not publish official statistics on executions.
