Updated: 2008-12-01 16:47 JERUSALEM -- A suspected break-in at Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni's home on Monday intruded on her electioneering when bodyguards accidentally broadcast an alert over her telephone line as she gave a live radio interview.
"Everything's okay, I'm here," she told Army Radio by phone, speaking from her office while the messages "Intruder alert" and "foreign minister's house at Ramat Hahayal" sounded in the background. "You see, all this security, and now everyone knows where I live," Livni quipped. She then offered to call back on her cellphone so the interview could go on uninterrupted. The radio later explained that an alarm button had been accidentally pressed at her home. |
