JERUSALEM  -- An Israeli airplane made an emergency landing in the Ben-Gurion Airport after an engine failed, causing no casualties or damage.

Shortly after the Airbus A320 plane, carrying 178 passengers, took off from the Ben-Gurion Airport to Berlin, the pilots reported that the pressure was decreasing in one of the engines.

The airport then directed the plane back for landing and a state of alert was announced in the airport. The plane landed safely as rescue teams were put on hold at the scene.

In April, a Continental Airlines plane, with 241 passengers on board, also made an emergency landing in the international airport shortly after takeoff due to an engine failure.
