Bridge collapses in Bangladesh, over 200 injured

One people was killed, 3 missing and over 200 others wounded when a bridge collapsed into the river in Bangladesh's southern cyclone-hit Patuakhali district Saturday afternoon.

Police said that about 3000 cyclone survivors thronged the bridge on a river in Patuakhali district, 160 km south of capital Dhaka, for arrival of relief while the bridge collapsed.

Local people have launched rescue operation for the injured persons fallen into the river.

Patuakhali district is one of the worst-hit districts by the cyclone Sidr which slammed the Bangladesh's southern and southwestern areas on November 15 night, leaving over 3000 dead and millions affected.
