14 killed by female bomber in Iraq

BAGHDAD - A female suicide bomber exploded herself in a crowd of police
recruits northeast of Baghdad on Tuesday, killing at least 14 people, police and
hospital officials said.

| The woman, wearing a black abaya,
walked into a crowd of about 200 police recruits at the main gate of the
Muqdadiyah police station, a police officer on the scene said. He spoke on
condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
At least 14 people were killed and 20 injured, according to an official at
Muqdadiyah General Hospital.
Muqdadiyah lies about 60 miles northeast of Baghdad.
