North Korea's Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun died, state Korea Central News Agency said.

The report didn't give Paek's cause of death.

Paek graduated from Kim Il-sung University in Pyongyang, and served as Foreign Minister since 1998, South Korea's Yonhap News said today, without saying where it obtained the information.

Paek attended several rounds of talks between North Korea and South Korea in the 1990s, Yonhap said.

Paek received hospital treatment in Kuala Lumpur after he visited Malaysia in July last year to attend a forum of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Yonhap said.
