Hollywood rolled out the green carpet Tuesday for the premier of former U.S. Vice President Al Gore's global warming documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth."

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and his wife Tipper arrive at the Los Angeles premiere of the documentary film "An Inconvenient Truth" in Los Angeles May 16, 2006. The film by director Davis Guggenheim offers a look at Gore's fervent crusade to halt global warming's deadly progress by exposing the myths and misconceptions that surround it. Actors and activists joined in celebrating Gore's film, which argues global warming is imminent and potentially catastrophic.

Actors including Sharon Stone, David Duchovny from the "X-Files," "Curb Your Enthusiasm" co-star Larry David and comedian Gary Shandling attended the premier, where guests walked a green carpet instead of the traditional red.

"It's just the environment and planet, that's all," said Shandling.

He joked that people don't pay enough attention to global warming because "they are focused on TV."

One event sponsor, Hewlett-Packard, brought guests from a nearby hotel in a vehicle powered by bio-fuel instead of gasoline.

Others attending included snowboarder and Olympic gold medalist Shaun White, who said was interested in global warming because he believed it had reduced snow pack.

"The lower elevation mountains are not getting as much snow," said White, known as the "Flying Tomato" because of his red hair.

White said the sport would suffer if "you can't go to your local mountain and ride."
