CAIRO -- Egypt's official news agency says ousted President Mohammed Morsi has arrived by helicopter at a Cairo police academy where his trial for incitement of violence and murder will begin shortly.

Morsi has been held at an undisclosed military location since his ouster in a coup in July. He and 14 senior leaders of his Muslim Brotherhood are facing charges of incitement of murder related to riots outside the presidential palace in Cairo last December.

If convicted, they could face the death penalty.

The opening of the trial on Monday in Cairo is Morsi's first public appearance since his ouster.
