Almost every one of these soldiers has his own special look. They have different eyebrows, hair styles and even facial expressions and ages. Standing silently, wi horses nearby and solemn looks on their faces, they appear to be still waiting for an order from the emperor.
With a height of 1.8 to 1.9 meters, the Terracotta Warriors make me get lost in a fantasy: they might be under the spell of strong magic cast one night during the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC).
If not, why they all look so real? And how were thousands of them sculpted so differently?
Not only me but also the makers of many Chinese modern sculptures, films, TV series and online literature have been charmed by these warriors and horses, such as in Jackie Chan’s film The Myth.
