Chinese couples now have the chance to exchange vows of a lifetime in Venice, thanks to Love Carnival of Venice, a group wedding project organized by Xing Travel and Cosmo Bride magazine.

Organized by travel agency Xing Travel and Cosmo Bride magazine, and supported by high-end wedding planning company Loveni, the activity aims at sending one hundred couples to celebrate their love in Venice.

The 12-day travel package is scheduled to take off on Oct 12 this year.

Participants can choose between Venice, Paris and Athens to travel prior to their wedding ceremony, which will take place on Oct 18 at the at the Italian opera house Teatro La Fenice under the witness of the mayor of Venice. Fine dining at Caffe Florian and a masked ball at Piazza San Marco are scheduled to follow.

"We are developing themed travel packages to adapt to the changes in Chinese travelers' mindsets. They don't just want to travel to see a place, they want to be the traveler who travels to experience the local culture," said Yang Di, general manager of Xing Travel.

"We hope that the one hundred couples can have the most beautiful and most romantic wedding on earth through this event, and exchange one hundred percent of their love in wedding vows," said assistant publisher of Cosmo Bride magazine Mu Liang.

The entire process will be captured on film with documentary filmmakers associated with China Central Television.

Priced at roughly 57,000 yuan per person ($9,182), those interested can sign up for the package on Tuniu.com.
