Hemudu Site
First excavated in 1973, Hemudu is a heritage site of the Neolithic culture in the Yangtze River region. Hemudu culture dates back about five to seven millenia. Located 80 km northeast from Qiantong, the site has a museum displaying domesticated rice, pile-dwellings, pottery and ivory artifacts from the Hemudu culture.
