About 25 percent of young Chinese travel frequently; 55 percent travel sometimes, 18 percent seldom and less than 2 percent never travel, according to a survey conducted by China Youth Daily among 2,078 young Chinese.
Among those surveyed, 76 percent feel that having a travel plan in advance is very important. Over 60 percent said they would do research and make a travel plan ahead of their trips.
Among those who make travel plans, 46 percent would make a detailed itinerary, and 13 percent would make "very detailed" plan.
After making travel plans, about 40 percent said they would strictly stick to them, and 25 percent would use them as a reference.
As useful as a travel itinerary is, about half of those surveyed feel that strictly following a travel plan will discourage surprises on the trip.
