On Monday, the 134th US Open Tennis Championship began play at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York. While big name stars like Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams will dominate the focus on the women's draw, and Li Na is sidelined with an injury, there are a half a dozen Chinese players looking to make their mark as well. On day one, four female Chinese players took to the court, with Peng Shuai beating Zheng Jie 6-3, 6-3, and Zheng Saisai coming from behind to beat Switzerland's Stefanie Voegele 1-6, 6-2, 6-2. Two more Chinese players - Zhang Shuai and Wang Qiang - make their debuts on Monday.
