TEHRAN - The Iranian Football Federation has introduced the names of six cities to host the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, Tasnim news agency reported on Wednesday.
Iran had earlier proposed Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz and Mashhad for hosting the competitions and recently added Shiraz and Kerman to the list.
A delegation from the Asian Football Confederation plans to visit Iran by the end of April and the inspection team will take into consideration several factors other than stadium facilities, including training sites, security facilities and transportation infrastructures.
Iran has previously hosted the editions in 1968 and 1976. The Islamic Republic, the UAE, Thailand and Kuwait had expressed their interests in hosting the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
