NEW DELHI -- The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has lifted the 14-month-long suspension of India after the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) elected new office-bearers here on Sunday, said local TV channel Times Now Tuesday.

World Squash Federation (WSF) chief N. Ramachandran was elected the IOA president unopposed, while Kho Kho Federation of India ( KKFI) president Rajeev Mehta and All India Tennis Association (AITA) president Anil Khanna were elected, also unopposed, respectively as the secretary general and treasurer.

The decision on revoking India's suspension from the Olympic Movement was made late Monday night during the Sochi Winter Olympics at an IOC executive committee meeting, said Times Now.

The IOC decided to suspend India's membership due to government interference and irrelevant process of electing the leaders of IOA.

India had to participate under the flag of the IOC at the Sochi Winter Olympics, seen as a humiliation here.
