Zach Randolph, the 13-year veteran power forward delivered his 15th double-double of the season, scored 25 points with 15 rebounds to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to victory over the New York Knickerbockers on Saturday at Madison Square Garden, even though Carmelo Anthony scored the highest 30 points of the game. Memphis out rebounded the Knicks, 56-29.
Knicks rookie guard Timothy Hardaway Jr. posted 16 in a career-high 30 minutes but Tony Allen scored 19 points for Memphis.
"Look at the rebounding…it was 56 to 29," Knicks coach Mike Woodson said "That is embarrassing especially when you start a big lineup. Tyson (Chandler), (Andrea) Bargnani, Melo (Carmelo Anthony) have to rebound the ball better and we have to do it as a unit. We couldn't keep them out of the paint and that was the problem".
Center Tyson Chandler returned to the Knicks for his second game since Nov 5, when he sustained a non-displaced fracture of his right fibula, scoring eight points, but found it difficult keeping up with Randolph.
"I was being aggressive, it is something that I have been trying to do the last couple of games. I love playing at the Garden, I had a great time when I was here. It was sweet to get a win here" as Zach Randolph said.
