GUIDE, China - China was the biggest winner in the third International Extreme Race of Winter Swimming across Yellow River concluding in northwest China's Qinghai province on Saturday.
The race attracted 48 participants from 10 countries and regions.
Chinese swimmers swept the titles of the men's and women's 500m races in both group A and B.
"What matters in this race is a good combination of speed and angle. If your angle is wrong, you miss the finish line," said Thomas Riley Elliott from the United States, who finished second in the men's 500m race of group B.
"We want to offer a platform to winter swimming lovers. Meanwhile, the symbolic meaning of this race also matters. We hope this race can attract more and more people joining winter swimming," said Jiang Binbo, the chief of Social Affairs Department of the State Swimming Center.
