Comment on "Gun-toting policy a double-edged sword" (China Daily, June 4)
Terrorism cannot be defeated by firearms, and it's time we realized this fact. The best way to fight terrorism is to spread education. Education opens the minds of people; it helps them understand and cope with drastic changes. And people who are still left out should be provided proper assistance to get back on the right track.
Religion helps people in their search for spiritual contentment, and its pursuit calms the mind. Diligence raises the quality of life, though it can be dwarfed by indolence, which, in turn, can be overcome by education and proper guidance.
