Actor Mark Walhberg is Hollywood's highest-paid leading man, earning $68 million before tax in a 12-month period, according to Forbes magazine.

The rapper-turned-actor Boston native has blockbuster hits Transformers: The Last Knight and upcoming Daddy's Home 2 to thank for his soaring earnings.

Last year's top-ranked star, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, made $65 million this year. Johnson continues to remain one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood for parts in Baywatch and forthcoming Jumanji.

Vin Diesel from the Fast and Furious franchise followed at the third spot with $54.5 million. Adam Sandler is at number four with $50.5 million, and China's kung fu superstar Jackie Chan sat at number 5 with $49 million. Sandler returned to the Forbes list thanks to his lucrative deal with video streaming platform Netflix. Chan, who ranked third last year with $61 million pretax, fell two spots this year, but continues to make bank in China.

Earnings by world's 20 highest-paid actors tallied to $720 million between June 1, 2016, to June 1, 2017, all before fees and taxes.

Hollywood's highest-paid actors continue to outdo their female counterparts. The top 10 actors raked a sum of $488.5 million, roughly three times that earned by 10 top-earning women ($172.5 million).

Here's the top 10.
