A traditional Chinese restaurant is teaming up with the production team of a cartoon film to present its New Year set menus.
Quanjude, arguably Beijing and China's biggest Peking roast duck restaurant group, recently announced a cooperative agreement with a new cartoon film, The Hero of Color City.
The cartoon movie, screened on Feb 6, is a joint production between Xing Xing Digital Studio and Hollywood, features humanized wax crayons as the main characters.
It's the first time Quanjude has cooperated with a cartoon film catered to children. The restaurant group says an increased number of children are brought to eat at its chain. On the other hand, the screening of the film coincides with Spring Festival, the most important holiday for Chinese people. With this move, Quanjude hopes to promote its family banquets during the festival.
Until March 5, four restaurant brands in the Quanjude Group, including Fangshan, Fengzeyuan and Sichuan Fandian, will give wax crayons as gifts to families who order a New Year set menu at its restaurants. The branches also will set up spaces for children to color with the wax crayons while their families wait to be seated.
