The competition is a collaboration between Hong Kong fashion brand Izzue and Tsinghua University that discovers young design talents at the world's top design institutions.
The 12 global finalists this year were selected from schools, including New York's Parsons The New School for Design, the Royal College of Art in London and the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs in Paris.
They had to choose from Izzue's archived pieces and reinvent them within 14 hours.
After a runway show and a Q&A session with a panel of professionals, including Simon Collins, dean of the School of Fashion at Parsons, and Diane Pernet, international fashion blogger and critic, Wang Yilong from the Academy of Art & Design at Tsinghua University won The People's Choice Award.
Johanne Dindler from the Royal College of Art won The Best Design Award.
