Comedian Huang Bo, who made his name in such dark comedies as Crazy Stone and Crazy Racer, plays a challenging role as the lead in the thriller Design of Death.

The movie, directed by Guan Hu, is about a mysterious murder in a village. Guan describes the film as a mix of many genres, including comedy, thriller and crime.

Huang won the best actor award at the Taiwan Golden Horse Awards in 2009 for his role in Guan's film, Cow.

In Death, Huang performs some "passionate scenes" for the first time on the big screen opposite actress Yu Nan.

The film premiered on April 28.
