The China Film Directors' Guild will give awards to filmmakers who have created remarkable works in 2011.
The guild's president Li Shaohong (pictured), director of Blush and The Door, announced in Beijing recently that more than 300 members of the guild will select from 200 films.
Set up in 1993, the guild is a nongovernmental organization that includes most of China's famed actors, such as Zhang Yimou, Feng Xiaogang and Chen Kaige.
The awards ceremony will take place on April 8.
