A major expo on antique art pieces kicked off in Beijing on Oct 28 and will run through Nov 1.

The 2016 Beijing China Art International Fair gathers nearly 100 collectors and antique stores nationwide to have trade and auctions in a 9,000-square-meter hall of Poly International Exhibition Center.

An area was reserved to display art pieces collected from countries along the ancient Silk Road and Maritime Silk Road.

This is the 7th edition of the annual event, and the expo averagely attracted about 50,000 visitors each year. An exhibition showing traditional Beijing-style embroidery pieces from royal court of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) was also opened in Beijing's Liulichang area as a branch arena for the event.
