The first event Hu participated in was a walking tour to find the stories contained in the old houses in the city. It was the first time she discovered that life is full of unexpected surprises, which can only be discovered by the curious. Hu has since found Me Library to be a place where she can be her authentic self, where she is able to forget about stress at work and discover the beauty of life by making new friends.
"Unlike other bookstores, Me Library offers me opportunities to get involved and communicate with others, which broadens my view of society and makes me feel happier and more confident," Hu says.
In addition, Me Library also holds certain themed seminars at which specialists or professional teams are invited to share their unique understanding of their subjects.
During the latest event in early June, a group of foreign students from different countries shared their stories on the theme of "You and the Land".
"It was amazing to have the opportunity to share our ideas with local people to compare different environmental protection methods and discuss how to treasure our land," says Yash Patel, a university student from India who came to China for a month-long project on environmental protection.
Patel adds that what Me Library does is very exciting and unique to get people to know each other better. "I will try to spread the concept of Me Library to let more people join our team, tell their stories and share their feelings," Luo says.
