There are over 20,000 civilian drones, or unmanned aircraft vehicles (UAV), in China, and half of them are controlled without a license, reported by China National Radio on Saturday.

An electric fence could be built in order to supervise and contain unlicensed drones, suggested Ke Yubao, the executive secretary of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of China at the 4th China Internet Audio-Visual Conference in Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan province.

A new technology called 'U-Cloud', which was first developed in China, would also be useful. The U-Cloud is similar to black boxes in planes and could supervise the data of civilian drones in real time, added Ke.

By registering drones and implementing effective technology, it would be possible to track the drones and the owners down.

Ke and his association are discussing with authorities to simplify the registration of civilian drones.
