A dog named Lucky proved that it had the right name after it was saved by a passerby and its owner from a frozen lake in Hefei city, East China's Anhui province, Jan 25, 2016.
Just a day later after Hefei city experienced its coldest winter, Lucky went out with its owner Gao to enjoy the sunshine. However, it got trapped when it began running on the ice-covered lake.
The dog gradually began sinking after it tried to get out of the ice hole.
Just then a cameraman spotted the animal, went into the frozen lake and used his tripod and even his knees to break the ice, though half of his body was submerged in the freezing water.
Moved by the man's efforts, Lucky's owner Gao went into the lake with him and kept telling the dog to persist in climbing out of the ice hole.
Finally, Lucky swam back to safety and went straight into the arms of the cameraman. The scene made onlookers applause.
The three are in good condition.
Lucky's story warmed many Internet users. One weibo user Katherine said: "I am deeply moved."Another weibo user named dalian said: "Wish all lives in the world can be treated with tenderness", while some users reminded the dog's owner to be careful outside.
