China's top legislator Zhang Dejiang is also musically skilled.
At an evening gala celebrating International Women's Day during the "Two Sessions" in 2006, Zhang, then Party Secretary of Guangdong province, played two songs "The Fern leaf Hedge Bamboo In The Moonlight" and "The Night of the Military harbor" with Hulusi (cucurbit flute), a music instrument native to ethnic groups in Yunnan, when Guangdong and Yunnan delegations watched performances in Beijing in 2006.
He even once conducted the Guangzhou symphony orchestra when the latter held a concert at a music hall in Guangzhou, Guangdong province on Aug 30, 2004.
