Twelve professional teams attend this year’s China Dragon Boat Race competition (Putuo station) in Shanghai’s Suzhou Creek on June 19, as a traditional activity to celebrate the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, or Duanwu, which this year fell on June 20. The Guangzhou team won the competition. Dragon boats, propelled by rowers, are watercrafts rigged with decorative Chinese dragon heads and tails.
